How do I join?

You can join online anytime on our secure site, or you can call Member Relations at (630) 990-2277. Representatives are available Mon-Fri, 10-5 CST.

How do I obtain an username and password for online access?

If you are a paid member of AAPI you are eligible for online access to the members area of this website. This would include all Patron members and dues paid current annual AAPI members. You could get your online credentials one of the two ways:

  1. Online: You would need to know your email on file with AAPI and have access to that email account. If you do, you simply click on the link 'Forgot password' below the Member Login box. This takes you to a screen where you can enter the email and once you hit enter, an email with the username and password linked to the member record associated with that email would be sent out. You simply would retrieve that email and come back to login with the username/password.
  2. Manually: If you do not have a functional email on record with AAPI or have lost access to it, you would need to call AAPI office to establish online access. You would be required to verify your credentials before an username and password would be released to you.
Once you have access, please verify your contact details, update username or password, upload a picture, enter your training details and select your privacy settings the way you prefer.

How do I update my profile or contact information?

Once you login to the website, you can update your profile, bio, addresses, phone numbers and any other information by clicking the 'Edit Profile' link at the top.

You can also download a document which walks you through some of the initial steps to login and update your profile.

If you still experience any problems, please contact the AAPI office.

Would my information be visible to public?

Your privacy is of utmost concern to us at all times. If you are a current AAPI officer or trustee, your primary address on record as well as the primary telephone number would be available to the public. For all other members, you have complete control of your information. You could choose to display your address, phone or email in your member profile. In that case it would be visible to Members only after they successfully log in. If you have uploaded a picture of yourself for your profile and if you are a patron member, it could be picked randomly to display on the home page feature "Member Profile" along with your name. You do have the ability to opt out of this feature as well.

Does AAPI store credit card information?

AAPI does not store the credit card information of any member at any time, We use a secure portal to process your online transaction. Since we do not store your credit card information you would have to input those details everytime you need to pay. This is designed to keep your security in mind.

My spouse is an active Patron member of AAPI. How do I sign up with a discounted membership fee?

You would need to know your spouse's membership number in order for you to get the discounted fee schedule. You would also need to have a separate email address. The process after that would depend upon if we have you listed in the AAPI database or not:

  1. If you are not listed in our database: You would simply register as a new member, pick the Spouse membership option, and fill your spouse's membership number to be validated. You should be able to complete registration online.
  2. If you are already listed in the database: The AAPI office would have to correct your record to apply the discounted spouse category. Please have your spouse's membership number handy when you call. AAPI office would help locate your spouse's membership number, in case you do not have that information. Once we associate your record with that of your spouse, you can then go online and register and the correct discounted schedule would automatically be applied.

My spouse is a current annual AAPI member. Do I get a discount for signing up as well?

AAPI offers a discount to the spouses of patron members only if  they sign up for Patron membership also. The discount for annual memberships has been abolished.

What is the difference between the membership types AAPI-Primary and AAPI-Spouse?

They both carry the same benefits except the membership type AAPI-Spouse allows you to sign up for Patron membership at a discounted rate. However in order to change your membership type to an AAPI-Spouse, we would first need to associate you with your spouse who is required to be an AAPI-Primary. Please call AAPI office for assistance and have your primary spouse's membership number available.

I need an username and password for access to www.aapiusa.org, however when I request it through the 'Forgot password' link I get an error message. What are the reasons?

Currently the access to the Members' area of this website is restricted to the paid active memberships only. Here are the possible reasons if you get an error message:

  1. Your email address does not match with what AAPI has for you in their database. Please contact AAPI office to update your email.
  2. You are a non-member of AAPI or your membership might have expired. All Annual memberships irrespective of start date expire on June 30th. Please follow the link to Register as a new member.
  3. You are a YPS member whose membership is not current. Please download the membership form and mail/fax with your payment for either annual or Patron membership. Once our database is updated you would be able to get access.
  4. You have a complementary (unpaid) MSRF membership. You could choose to become a Patron member as several MSRF members have done. Please download the membership form and mail/fax with your payment. Once our database is updated you would be able to get access. You should still be able to get access to the MSRF website which has its own separate access.
  5. If you believe you have a paid membership which is current and your email address is correct, please call or email us and we should be able to rectify the problem.
Please note that you should be able to access most of the public areas of this website without having an username/password.
